Congratulations to Project Kodō (TICF Intranet) for being named the Toyota Industries Commercial Finance (TICF) FY2024 Beyond the Transaction Project of the Year. The project was spearheaded by Heidi Hall (PMO) with executive sponsorship by Sheena Seger (People & Culture, Risk).
Members of the project include Alex Bokal (IT), Anelya Hardson (Commercial Credit), April Babin (Accounts Receivable), Chris Bunts (Strategic Transformation), Chris Weeks (Collections), Christine Wernecke (People & Culture), Jennifer Voss (People & Culture), Justin Lockhart (Remarketing), Karoon Jaroonwit (Collections), Kris Rothe (PMO), Michelle Jeon (Dealer Financial Services), and Zhining Chen (Enterprise Risk).
Born out of the Associate Experience Survey results and subsequent action planning, the primary goal of creating a TICF Intranet was to improve internal communications, help Associates find important information easier and faster, and provide a living repository of knowledge, links, and resources for all TICF Associates and Business Partners. At the same time, as an AES project, it provided a development opportunity for the fourteen associates who volunteered. With representation spanning eleven departments, the project exposed participants to other disciplines and allowed them to grow their skills.
As an organization, we seek to build community, connections, and belonging—within our company, with our dealers and customers, and with our community; perhaps there is no greater impact on our mission, vision, values, and purpose than how we communicate with each other. Kodō (Japanese term for heartbeat, primal source of all rhythm), named by TICF Associate Kevin Flores (Commercial Funding), symbolizes the intranet as the heartbeat of TICF, keeping everyone and everything in sync. Kodō has built the framework that offers the speed at which we are able to get information, connects people and resources, and delivers the outcomes to enable movement and go beyond the transaction. By implementing an intranet, we demonstrate our commitment to ensuring that all Associates feel welcomed, valued, respected, and heard as we offer a more equitable and inclusive experience.

About the Beyond the Transaction Awards: At the heart of Toyota Industries Commercial Finance (TICF) are the tremendous contributions of our Associates. At the end of each fiscal year, Associates have the opportunity to nominate an individual for the Beyond the Transaction Associate of the Year and a project for the Beyond the Transaction Project of the Year. These awards are a testament to our commitment to acknowledging the outstanding efforts, creativity, and dedication that extend beyond conventional expectations. It is an opportunity for us to honor those who excelled in their day-to-day work in addition to making a significant impact on the Purpose, Values, Mission, and Vision (PVMV) of TICF.
